The apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the capital of New Spain (Now Mexico City) on December 12th 1531 triggered an international alarm. Despite the slow communications of the age, the news was evaluated, transmitted, and action was taken as shown by the incendiary attempt on the Holy Shroud of Turin on December 4th 1532 at Chambery.
